A Bookish Autumn Bucket List

Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall. - F. Scott Fitzgerald
Autumn: the season for poets, writers, and readers alike. I don't know what it is about fall, but something about the beauty of the season causes writers and poets to bleed words of beauty and heartache. Personally, I love autumn with a passion (if it includes pumpkin spice, you know I'm in), so I made a bookish/writer-themed bucket list for this fall!
Feel free to mix and match these things - it's just a list to get your creativity flowing on how to make some memories this fall! (Writer vibes, of course.)
#1 🍂 ~ create a fall-themed playlist
#2 🍂 ~ write a story based on autumn story prompts
#3 🍂 ~ read your favorite fall book! (Mine would have to be The Witch of Blackbird Pond)
#4 🍂 ~ go thrifting (because this means cozy sweaters)
#5 🍂 ~ like a candle, play soft music, and sit down for a writing session
#6 🍂 ~ visit a used bookstore
#7 🍂 ~ make apple/pumpkin pie from scratch
#8 🍂 ~ try a pumpkin spice latte at your coffee shop and have a writing session there!
#9 🍂 ~ collect autumn leaves to press and make into bookmarks
#10 🍂 ~ redo your bedroom/writing space with autumn vibes
#11 🍂 ~ journal each day from the first to the last day of fall
#12 🍂 ~ watch a fall movie and figure out which plotting method it follows
#13 🍂 ~ find a pen pal or start exchanging letters with a friend!
#14 🍂 ~ try a genre you normally wouldn't read (who knows? You might find a new favorite author!)
#15 🍂 ~ go to a pumpkin patch purely for the vibes
#16 🍂 ~ host or attend a bonfire
#17 🍂 ~ have a writing session at a cafe with a fellow writer
#18 🍂 ~ book study of The Lord of the Rings!
#19 🍂 ~ set up a dedicated reading nook (fairy lights ahh)
#20 🍂 ~ bake autumn treats that go along with the theme of the book you're reading
#21 🍂 ~ write autumn in the form of a character (what would autumn be like it it was a real person? what hair color would they have? eye color? get creative!)
#22 🍂 ~ commit to a new project or finish the one you're working on!
#23 🍂 ~ watch the Tom Holland Spiderman movies (definnitely not autumn-themed, but lets give Peter some love)
#24 🍂 ~ visit Little Free Libraries and donate some used books!
#25 🍂 ~ write poetryyy
#26 🍂 ~ re-organize your bookshelf and personalize it (*whispers* fairy lights?)
#27 🍂 ~ submit a short story to a contest
#28 🍂 ~ start a blog!
#29 🍂 ~ create a fall writing schedule and experiment with it
#30 🍂 ~ host a bookish party with friends (i.e. watch a movie adaption, eat themed snacks, etc!)
I'd love to hear if you have any other ideas! Feel free to drop them in the comments below.
Until next time,

Have a wonderful fall Maya ❤️❤️
